Found this beauty on the Craigslist this morning.

Says he will consider trades so I’m going to see if he’ll take my old john deere and a nice stereo I got lying around.

Crack pipe for the sheer stupidity of putting giant wind turbines on an electric car to recharge the batteries. Add a ton of drag to the vehicle so you can get a tiny amount of electricity back from the turbines shows such a fundamental lack of understanding of basic physics I wouldn’t trust them to have gotten anything else right either.

He’s not using them to recharge the high voltage drive pack. He is using them to maintain the voltage in the low voltage pack which powers the computers on the car. Though yes an alternator or two on the wheels would probably be a more effective system.

That is better, but still makes no sense as you’d want an electric car to have as low a drag as possible.
